Arrival in Phnom Penh and visit of the capital

Welcome to Phnom Penh - the capital of Cambodia, located in the center of the country, at the confluence of the Tonle Sap and the Mekong rivers, a strategic place chosen after the decline of Angkor as a capital. Phnom Penh owes its difference to other Asian capitals, thanks to the modernity coupled with provincial charm and the French-colonial touches set amongst Angkorian monuments. Your eyes won't ever be bored during a leisurely tour around the different streets.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet your driver and local guide and travel to your hotel.

Note: Check-in at the hotel from 14h00

The capital city of Cambodia is located at the meeting point of three rivers: the Bassac, the massive Tonle and the impressive Mekong. Phnom Penh owes its difference to other Asian capitals, thanks to the modernity coupled with provincial charm and the French-colonial touches set amongst Angkorian monuments. Your eyes won't ever get bored during a leisurely tour around the different streets. The journey through the bustling capital will begin with a visit to the National Museum. It is the largest of the country as it showcases the world's greatest collections of Khmer sculptures, ceramics and ethnographics. The last stop is at the Royal Palace which strikingly dominates the skyline of the city. Previously, the complex of 4 main areas functioned as the Royal Residence of the King of Cambodia.

Then, continue on to Phnom Penh Central market for some shopping time at your leisure. After the tour, head back to the hotel.

They are therefore safe and able to come close to your boat without being put off by the engine noises. Lights in colour and measuring about 2 meters when fully grown, it is rare to see them in full. However, you will most certainly be able to hear the peculiar spitting noise they make each time they surface and be able to catch a glimpse of these special animals. Relax, take your time to observe their playful behavior and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before heading back to Kratie.

Distance and duration: 16 km (one way from Kratie) - 2 hours including transfers (1 hour), possible in the morning or afternoon

Spend a night at the locals’ on Koh Trong island.

There are few things more exceptional than spending a night on a small island on the Mekong, and even more so if it’s in a local home. In this activity you will immerse into the local life of this beautiful island, have dinner with a local family and spend a night in their traditional wooden stilt house. The house where you will spend the night has a common room in which mattresses, sheets, blankets and mosquito nets are arranged. The sanitary facilities located at the back of the house are equipped with toilets and cold water showers. The comfort is simple, but you will experience authentic Cambodian life including a local dinner with the family and breakfast prepared by the host family.
