Arrival in Siem Reap

Welcome to Siem Reap - located at the northwest of the country, in the province of the same name, Siem Reap is known for its proximity to the 8th wonder of the world: the Angkor Complex.  Ideal to start an exploration of Cambodia, Siem Reap will give you the opportunity to explore Tonlé Sap and enjoy the genuine countryside or discover more remote temples of Beng Mealea, Phnom Kulen and Kbal Spean. 

Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet your driver and travel to your hotel.

Visit of Angkor temples

Siem reap

E-bike is the new eco-friendly way to explore Angkor temples in Cambodia. These electric bicycles run on batteries and will allow you to move freely everywhere, without effort, pollution or noise. The e-bicycle can travel up to 40 km per charge (approximately 20 km / hour), you can recharge your e-bicycles in several places in town, at Angkor temples or in the countryside. You will choose your E-bike from the rental company and after a short safety briefing and detailed explanations, you can explore the Angkor complex (minimum 4 years old and personal liability insurance - accident cover - repatriation).

This tour is designed to provide access to Cambodia's most famous Angkor temples. You will leave your hotel and start your trip by traveling along the riverside, then passing through a village and a forested area. You will then arrive at the Angkor Thom South Gate, where you will head up the wall for one of the most incredible rides within the Angkor complex. After descending the wall, you will visit a succession of historical sites located within Angkor Thom, including the Elephant Terrace, the Royal Palace, Baphuon, and the unique architectural wonder that is the Bayon temple. You will finish your biking expedition by visiting the awe-inspiring and beautiful Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world, former capital of the Khmer empire, and now an iconic symbol of Cambodia. After your cycling tour through the past, you will go back to the hotel.

In the afternoon,  we offer you sunset Aperitif on Tonle Sap Lake.

This private sunset cruise on a well-equipped boat will enable you to experience the great lake in an exceptionally relaxed and exclusive atmosphere. Before sunset, you will be welcomed at the pier by the friendly boat crew and start your scenic cruise passing by floating farms, floating houses and local fishing boats out on the Tonle Sap Lake. You will have the chance to feast on a selection of nicely assorted and presented finger food and snacks as well as imported wine and soft drinks. Out on the lake, the engine will stop and you will float peacefully to experience the magnificent sunset, take your time for a chat and leave all your cares behind. 

You will then cruise back to the pier to start your quick travel to Siem Reap.

Visit of Siem Reap by bicycle

Siem reap

You will start your cycling tour by visiting Preah Dak, a local market famous for selling fresh vegetables and fruits and, of course, famous Cambodian rice noodles. From the market, you will then cycle eastward on a dirt road to reach your first stop: a local house renowned for its production of Cambodia's famous rice noodles. The family will give your a great, warm welcome, and you will discover their way of life by helping through the different stages of making rice noodles. Afterwards, you will have the chance to taste them, mixing them into the delicious traditional breakfast, Nom Bahn Chok. 

The next stop will lead you to a house where a local family creates palm leaf handicrafts as a source of income. The villagers will teach you to make one of your own, and you can take your own craft back as an exceptional and very personal souvenir- a true demonstration of your crafting skills. 

After these thoroughly immersive cultural experiences, you will continue cycling to two of the least-visited and well-preserved temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park: Banteay Samre and Phnom Bok, enjoying the relaxing countryside as you ride your bicycle through rice paddies and palm trees on your way there. Your last stop will be a small village that specialize in bamboo sticky rice production and harvesting coconut fruits. Taste these delicious Cambodian snacks and indulge in a fresh coconut while relaxing under the shadow of palm trees to end a perfect day.

Distance and duration of cycling: 15 km - 1h 30min (excluding sites visit)

You will continue your day with a trip to Banteay Srei, a beautiful pink sandstone temple that is also known as the "Citadel of Women" and features some remarkable sculptures of divinities.

You will go explore the famous temple of Ta Phrom, incredibly overgrown with giant trees.

During your day of rigorous temple explorations around the majestic Angkor Archaeological Park, you will pass by the Srah Srang baray, or reservoir (used as royal baths during the ancient Khmer Empire), where you can enjoy a private and relaxing picnic lunch in a charming, Khmer timber house, far away from the crowds.

After arriving at the banks of Srah Srang baray, you will have a short, 10-minute walk through the local village to reach the house, which is located on the border of the reservoir.

The house offers an authentic and comfortable atmosphere, with furniture and decorations made from local materials, along with a tropical garden and beautiful views of the reservoir.

Discovery of the Kompong Khleang village

Siem reap

In the morning, you travel to Kompong Kleang. Arrival in the village, during the dry season, a walk to meet the locals is offered before you set out for the cruise.

From Kompong Kleang you will board a local boat led by a captain from the village. The craft will criss-cross Tonlé Sap at a leisurely pace, giving you the opportunity to observe some of the small floating villages.

The small local boat is equipped with an engine, which allows you to move easily from the village and along the various canals leading to the Great Lake. Once you reach the end of the canal, you will realize the immensity of this lake, where the horizon stretches as far as the eye can see.

You will then return to the village, where you will have a picnic lunch.

In the afternoon, you will return to Siem Reap.

17h00, you walk through the center of Siem Reap, uncovering a bounty of tasty surprises as you go. Visit a restored local house to begin your exploration with an aperitif and assortment of renowned Khmer delicacies. Continue to a famous local eatery where they serve traditional saak koh ang (grilled beef with raw and fresh vegetables) accompanied by local beer or drinks. The evening continues with a browse through the market by night, and ends at the riverside to enjoy a traditional dessert. These gastronomic highlights guarantee a flavor-filled evening to savor!

Take the road to Banteay Chhmar

In the morning, you will have a moment with the NGO Eco Soap Bank Cambodia

A 1.5 hour workshop at Eco Soap Bank is awaits you today - one that will give you a new perspective on life in Cambodia. Once you arrive, you will be welcomed and given a short presentation about the NGO and its “magic hands,” all while observing the different steps of the mesmerizing soap recycling process.

Once the presentation it’s over, it will be your turn to get your hands...clean!So, roll up your sleeves and begin working to craft your own soap bar, working side by side with the local women. 

As part of our signature, participation at this workshop grants 50 soap bars to be donated, which will cover a part of the yearly distribution of soap bars needed by Angkor Children Hospital. Eco Soap Bank has been supporting the Angkor Children Hospital for several years, and now you can lend a helping, "magic" hand. Feel free to bring your soap along to donate it to Eco Soap bank.

At the end of the workshop, you can also decide to donate a certain amount of soap bars to the Angkor Children Hospital of Siem Reap, as well.

You will depart from Siem Reap to Banteay Chhmar. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the local people and check in to the tented camp. After a refreshment, the tour will start with a walk to explore the Banteay Chhmar temple ruins with the local guide. During

the walk, you will make a stop for a delicious picnic lunch cooked by the local villagers with a view of the temple facade, close to the exotic Angkor Avalokitesvara carving.

After that, you will take a short trip to the local village where you will have the opportunity to interact with the local people and then observe some other astonishing temples. Then you will return to your camp just in time for sunset and a refreshing drink. The local community will then prepare dinner for you using local ingredients. They will set up a table, lights and a small fire outside your tent facing the temple. Sitting under the stars, surrounded by nature and tasting local food while listening to a local band playing traditional Khmer music, will make for a magical evening before bedtime.

Direction Battambang

In the early morning, you will have the chance to join the monks in their morning ritual. Before departure to the next destination, you will enjoy breakfast cooked and served by the local villagers.

You will leave for Battambang. Along the way, you will stop in Sisophon Village, renowned for its skilled sculptors. The sculptors have fascinating ancestral knowledge and produce impressive stone carvings. This is an opportunity for a privileged moment of exchange, to listen to their anecdotes and discover their techniques and unique way of life.

Once you arrive in Battambang, you will check into the hotel.

In the afternoon, for a fascinating 2 hours, you will walk and discover Battambang through the eyes of a native local. Visiting multiple unique points of interest throughout the centre will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn more about the town of Battambang while receiving a deeper understanding of the Khmer culture.

With your knowledgeable and quite joyful host, you will visit the vibrant central market, stroll along the riverside with its shop houses, discover an old Chinese temple as well as the oldest cinema of Battambang.

On this tour you will also learn more about local Buddhist religion practices and beliefs while visiting a local pagoda and will discover plenty of Cambodia's history during a visit to the Royal Residence's gardens.

Immersion in a local family

Siem reap, Battambang

Arriving at the homestay, you will be welcomed by a Cambodian family that comprises a grandmother, her two daughters and their husbands. The two young ladies are both Khmer teachers working for local schools, they speak and understand a little bit of English and French. Enjoy a private and interactive cooking class with the family. After a brief introduction and the opportunity to choose the dishes that you will cook, you will start with a tour to the local market to buy your ingredients and learn more about Khmer food, different fruits, vegetables and exotic spices.

You will then return to the homestay and start your journey of learning how to cook traditional homemade Cambodian food. You will prepare 3 different dishes (starter, main & dessert) at the central cooking station following the skilled advice of the two young ladies, before sitting down together to delight in your well deserved and delicious meal in a friendly and warm atmosphere. It will be a unique way to experience Battambang and discover Cambodian culinary culture and traditions.

In the afternoon, the tour will start off at an ancient pagoda named Wat Balat, situated around 3 km from the city center. Along the path, following a small stream, you will have the chance to see houses typical of the area and unchanged for generations, rice paddies, local workshops and much more. Observe the daily activities such as the preparation of sticky rice, custom knife making and the preparation of the traditional fish paste prahok. An unforgettable experience, accompanied by the local children waving and greeting you “hello” as you travel along.

Visit of an NGO and then take the road to Phnom Peng

Phare Ponleu Selpak is an NGO based in Battambang and was founded in 1994 with a mission to provide artistic training to poor, young Cambodians. This organization also

provides formal education from primary to high school for underprivileged children. The PPS Association began as a visual arts school and then a library, a child development center and then a social and health care center. Nowadays their Circus Skills School Group performs successfully in Battambang and Siem Reap as well as internationally. For a minimum of one hour spent with the guide of PPS, you will be told about the visions and missions, as well as the story behind the Phare Centre.

Visit of Phnom Penh

“Pour un sourire d'enfant” (PSE) is a charity regulated by the French Association of Law to help children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well-remunerated jobs. You will visit their headquarters and the different facilities

and learn more about their great work throughout Cambodia. When you will first arrive at the center you will be warmly welcomed and then guided through the different buildings including classrooms, the canteen and the sports area. Step by step you will learn more about the history of the organization. Finish the tour by watching a short movie about PSE, including an interview with its founder. After the visit, you will enjoy a lunch at the NGO's training restaurant "Le Lotus Blanc", a good way to support PSE while enjoying a tasty lunch. Make sure to stop by at the gift shop where beautiful items, created by families supported by the organization, are displayed and sold.

he journey through the bustling capital will begin with a visit to the National Museum. It is the largest of the country as it showcases the world's greatest collections of Khmer sculptures, ceramics and ethnographics. The last stop is at the Royal Palace which strikingly dominates the skyline of the city. Previously, the complex of 4 main areas functioned as the Royal Residence of the King of Cambodia.

Cruise down the vibrant promenade of the bustling capital. You will pass the spectacular Royal Palace and get to where the Tonle Sap Lake meets the Bassac and the two arms of the Mekong. During this journey you will observe the local fishermen at work, the active locals gathering along the riverside and some historical buildings. Enjoy the nice atmosphere and the sunset over the Phnom Penh skyline.

Road to Cardamomes and overnight in a eco-friendly resort

Jumpstart a truly productive day in the active capital of Phnom Penh by participating in a public aerobic session with the local ladies at the city’s iconic Olympic Stadium! 

As most gyms in Cambodia are predominantly seen as exclusive hangout spots for men, Cambodian women often come in droves to many of the capital’s public spaces to participate in aerobics. While joining this session and following the instructor’s lead and the rhythm of the upbeat music, you will share and experience the contagious energy these ladies exude. Blow off some steam while having great fun!

After this exhilarating and intense session, you will indulge in a well-deserved traditional Cambodian breakfast at a local restaurant. You will then head back to your hotel and enjoy the rest of your day feeling bright and energized. 

This is a truly unique activity where you can participate in the country’s local life and get up close with the active and energetic ladies of Phnom Penh!

Experience at the tented camp of Cardamomes

After an early breakfast, meet the camp’s English-speaking guide to start your “patrol hike” on abandoned poaching and lodging trails through the dense forest. Enjoy immersion in nature and see if you can spot and identify some exotic wildlife.   

Your half-day hike will stop at the Wildlife Alliance Ranger station where the rangers are based to protect the area from illegal lodging and poaching. Meet with them to learn about their courageous job and admire all the confiscated snares, traps and hand-made rifles on display. 

Afterwards, use a kayak to return, or hike back to the camp to enjoy lunch. 

Your afternoon is to enjoy at leisure; kayaks are available to use on the river.

Free time and relax

After breakfast enjoy your day at leisure. Perhaps explore one of the different trails originating from the lodge, that can be experienced without a guide. Or if you prefer, relax at the floating platform on the river and try to spot some birds, monkeys while you hear the whooping of the gibbons nearby. Kayaks are also available to paddle along the river. 

Lunch and dinner will be served at the lodge restaurant.

Departure of Cambodia

Enjoy the morning at leisure. If you are an early riser, enjoy a hike around the camp or kayaking along the river. Around 10:00 the boat will depart from the lodge to bring you back to where your private vehicle is waiting for you for your onward transfer. 

Continuation to Phnom Penh. Then you will head to Phnom Penh Airport to catch your departure flight.
